I was totally WRONG about Ableton Live 12 MIDI features... 😳 Between nonsense patterns, randomly generated notes you can actually get something worth using with just a couple of simple to replicate steps. There is a M4L Loop Flip that can generate many catchy sample chops at the same time without going back and forth to choose from take lane. This workflow is called generative workflow, just make your samples and the device will take care of arranging it. Hope you try it out since it can change an entire house and dubstep workflow.

The technique with the take lanes is great! I would always copy the whole midi track, then change the sound and in the end chop everything by hand 😅 I will definitly try that one!
Hahah same as me sometimes but I find it useful to force myself into using audio instead of midi which obviously leads to more cool stuff. You can also use one midi track, put all serum instances into a chain and then mute or unmute individual chains

Hey man, great video! I wanted to ask, do you know how to get rid of clicks after slicing it to new midi track?
If you slice to new track it will create an instrument rack for you with pre assigned knobs. One of the first ones (as I remember correctly) is responsible for attack time of all slices. Just adjust it a little bit 😉

Honestly, learn to use 2 or 3 different DAWs. FL can do things Ableton can't, and in ways Ableton can't. And vice versa. Same with Bitwig. Same with *insert DAW here*. You'll be a more flexible producer/musician/creator who appreciates how different people do things :)
For the record though, cool video. I was less replying to the video and more to the DAW-measuring-contest that pervades a lot of comments.

I once wrote a track from a singe drum loop just using extreme warping. That's really cool Ableton's feature and warping was one of the key features even in version 1

Great video. Just important to note that Rbass isn’t a sub generator. It creates harmonics above the fundamental. LoAir creates sub information out of higher fundamentals.

For leveling I usually just turn my kick down a whole lot, volume on my interface open and then bring everything by ear.
Finally, someone who knows that the DAW is called Live and not Ableton.
